Bible Verses to Get You Through: Confusion

Updated: Aug 10, 2019

One of the most challenging parts of life is that, at times, it can be so confusing. Whether big or small, we are often faced with many many choices throughout life. The decision on which path to take can be confusing and stressful when you’re only relying on your own instinct. Relying on God, and trusting Him during times of confusion can be the best way to answer these choices of life. However, confusion doesn’t just happen when we are faced with choices. Confusion can also creep in when tragic things happen to us, and we can’t wrap our heads around why. Recently, there has been so many young people who have lost their lives, and I know personally, for me, that has induced a lot of confusion. How could I be so young and have so many people my age passing away in such tragic events? And if I am confused, I can’t even image what those who loved and cared for these people are feeling. Whether you’re confused on a choice to make on the path of life, or confused as to why God would let something terrible happen, one of the best verses to read is 2 Corinthians 14:33, “For God is not a God of disorder, but of peace.” God does not want us to feel anxious due to our confusion. He doesn’t want our confusion to cause us to question our faith. All He wants is for us to be reminded of His unending peace. In times of confusion, sometimes that is all we need: to be reminded that resting on our King will give us immense peace. Another great verse I love to read in times of confusion is a very popular one: Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This one really gives me an overwhelming sense of peace. Our God knows exactly what is in store for us. He knows the plans that will play out in our lives, and not are they just plans, but prosperous plans. When we feel confused about what choices to make, or why something tragic is happening, God reminds us that He has planned a hopeful future for us, one where we will not be harmed. The key to getting through confusion is finding comfort, and I hope that when you feel the confusions of life start to take a toll, you turn to these verses and find comfort.

XOXO, MC
