C.S. Lewis once said, “Relying on God has to begin all over again everyday as if nothing had yet been done.” The decision to give your life to God is never a one and done type thing. Giving your life to the Father is a constant choice the must be made every single day. Some days you’re going to fail, and other days you’re going to succeed more than you ever have. Sometimes our humanity gets the best of us. Our days can be insane and we forget to do that devotional we do everyday, or we forget to say that decade of the rosary we say each evening, or we forget to just sit in silence with Him. It’s okay. God never expects us to be perfect, but the problem forms when one forgotten devotional turns into a weeks worth of forgotten devotionals, or when one forgotten decade turns into three rosaries worth of forgotten decades. It is when a mistake becomes a habit that our relationship with God is threatened, and we no longer are fully giving ourselves to the King of Creation. God never promised us that giving our lives to Him would be easy or that it would make all of our problems go away. In fact, we see in the Bible that those who give their lives to God face just as many hardships as those who don’t. So what’s the point? The point is salvation. The point is that no matter what we endured in this life, we are all promised a joyous and rewarding eternity in Heaven, wrapped in the arms of Jesus with all of the loved ones we lost along the way. Whenever we start to become discouraged and begin wondering if God is even there, let's look to the Bible and remind ourselves of all of the things that the King of the World has promised us.
