We are often reminded of God’s blessings, both big and small, but there is no greater reminder of how deeply God blesses us than our Lord’s Resurrection. Through Jesus’ Passion, Death, Resurrection, and Ascension into Heaven, God shows us His undying love. A love so unconditional that it is beyond all human comprehension. He desired to be so close to us that He made the ultimate sacrifice. He created a perfect Son, part human and part divine, and sent Him to Earth knowing that His journey would end in a violent, gore-filled death. However, God knew that in Jesus’ short time on Earth He would change the future of humanity forever. During His time here Jesus befriended prostitutes, ate dinner with tax collectors, gave sight to the blind, and raised the dead back to life. He taught us the importance of mercy, acceptance, and, most importantly, love. Through Jesus we are able to see the Father’s love, and just how deeply He cares for us. Through Jesus’ Passion, Death, Resurrection, and Ascension into Heaven we learn that God sees worth in us, even when we can’t see it for ourselves. He desired to create a way for us to become one with Him again, and was willing to do whatever it took, even if it meant losing His only Son. Jesus let His Father’s will be done, knowing that not everyone He saved would love Him back. That is unconditional love. That is a love we will never be able to understand. That is a love that saved our lives from the repercussions of our own sins. And that is a love that makes our God, and His Son great.
