It’s been a week since Our Lord’s glorious resurrection, and His conquering over sin and death. We are so blessed to be able to say that we have been saved by our Lord Jesus! But what now? It may feel like we have to wait until Christmas for the next big celebration of Jesus, but I promise you that that is not the case. It can be so easy to feel on fire for Jesus during big times of celebration like Christmas and Easter, but we can be on fire 24/7. It won't be easy, but it is possible. We all want that super close relationship with Jesus, and He knows that, but it’s often hard to figure out how exactly to do that. I find that the easiest way to do so is to take a time when you’re on a spiritual high (Easter, Christmas, a retreat, a great church service, a healing confession, etc.) and journal about it. Take time to reflect on what made this time so awesome and how it helped you on your faith journey. When things start to get busy and you start to feel yourself drifting away from Him, take out time to pray, reflect, and journal. Journaling your thoughts and prayers will really help you recenter your mind on Jesus. Keeping up a perfect spiritual life is impossible. There have been so many times when I have let life get in the way of my relationship with God. However, I don’t let this discourage me from picking up where I left off with Him. If you think that you’ve let Him down by becoming distant from Him and can’t come back, you are wrong my friend. Let your spiritual high from Easter keep you close to Him. Don’t be disappointed if one night you miss journaling or your devotional, pick up where you left off, and keep growing closer and closer to Him.
XOXO, MC
