Today’s the day y’all! Today is not just a celebration of Jesus’ resurrection, but our resurrection. Today our Prince of Peace rose from the dead, and saved us from a spiritual death. Three days ago He was mocked, tortured, spit on, and MURDERED, all so that we could have the opportunity to live in His Father’s Kingdom. He did this knowing that a majority would reject Him and avoid Him, even after He suffered an excruciating death for them. We wake up everyday and live our lives that are filled with even the smallest blessings because of Him, and honestly we don’t deserve a single bit of it. However, by the power of our Father, His Son’s death and Resurrection made us worthy. Every drop of Jesus’ blood was a sin committed by you or me. Every tear Mary cried for her Son was for us. Today is a day that is often brushed over and overlooked. I mean compared to Christmas, Easter doesn’t seem like much. While Christmas is considered to be the most joyous time of the year, so should Easter. The day we are called to rejoice, not just that Jesus rose from the dead, but that our spirits did as well. We can go to bed tonight knowing that every sin, whether it’s one of those sins that keeps us up at night, or one that is so small we didn’t even bat an eye while doing it, we’re forgiven. We are given the opportunity to wake up every morning and walk with Christ. If you’re reading this and think, “It has been a while since I put Christ first,” sister I can tell you I’m right there with you. We are ALL right there with you, because no one has had a perfect walk with Christ. I truly believe that Jesus is the happiest when we return to Him after thinking we could do it all on our own. So if you haven’t walked with Him in a while, today is the perfect day to start. Rejoice with Him today over our shared resurrections, and thank Him for His immaculate resurrection. He died so that we may live, don’t waste a second of it held down by the sin He already saved you from.
XOXO, MC
